How a job runs

Six steps. In this order. Every time.

Most tile failures in Toronto homes are not tile problems — they are prep problems. Here is what happens between the quote and the handover.

Measure & quote

01

On-site visit, moisture and level check, written scope with materials and labour split out.

Demo & protection

02

Old finishes out, floors and doorways protected, debris hauled away. Your house stays livable.

Substrate prep

03

Self-levelling compound, uncoupling membrane, backer board. Flat within tolerance before a single tile is set.

Waterproofing

04

Bonded membrane on shower walls, pans and tub surrounds. Flood-tested where it matters.

Setting & layout

05

Dry layout first so cuts land where they should. Full coverage, zero lippage, movement joints planned.

Grout, seal & walk-through

06

Grout, silicone at every change of plane, seal natural stone, then we walk it with you before we leave.

Laser level and self-levelling compound being used on a subfloor before tiling

Why it lasts

Flat floors are boring. That is the point.

Older Toronto and Etobicoke homes move. Plywood subfloors flex, concrete slabs in condos dish out, and a 1200 mm porcelain plank will telegraph every millimetre of it. We fix the floor before we tile it, so you never hear that hollow tap under your heel.

  • Deflection and moisture checked before we quote, not after demo
  • Uncoupling and waterproofing membranes on every wet area
  • Back-buttered large format for full mortar coverage
  • Silicone, not grout, at inside corners and perimeters
  • Job site swept and vacuumed at the end of every day

FAQ

Questions we get every week

How much does tile installation cost in Toronto?

Labour for standard tile installation in the GTA generally runs about $10 to $18 per square foot in 2026, with backsplashes priced higher per square foot because of the cutting involved. Large-format slabs, herringbone patterns and natural stone sit at the top of that range. We quote your actual space rather than a per-foot average.

What does a full bathroom renovation cost in the GTA?

Most full bathroom renovations in Toronto and the GTA land between $15,000 and $30,000 in 2026, with powder rooms starting near $6,000 and large ensuites going well above that. Labour is typically half to sixty percent of the total. We give you a written scope so you can see exactly what is driving the number.

How long will my bathroom be out of service?

A standard full bathroom is usually three to five weeks from demo to final walk-through, driven mostly by waterproofing and curing time. A backsplash is one day. A tile floor in an average kitchen is two to three days.

Do you supply the materials or do I buy them?

Either way. We can source through our suppliers, or you buy it yourself and we install it. If you buy, we will tell you exactly how much to order, including the waste factor for your pattern.

Do you waterproof showers?

Always. Bonded waterproofing membrane on shower walls, pans and tub surrounds is not optional on our jobs. It is the single line item that decides whether a shower lasts five years or twenty five.

What are modular floors and who are they for?

Heavy-duty interlocking plastic tiles that click together over your existing concrete with no adhesive. They suit garages, home gyms, workshops, basements and commercial floors, and they go down in a day instead of the several days an epoxy coating needs to cure.

¿Hablan español?

Sí. Atendemos en español e inglés, y todo el presupuesto y el contrato se los entregamos en el idioma que prefiera.
